Nowadays, hanging out on the internet in any form feels like a sensory overload. There should be a warning on your phone just like they have in the movies helping you to prepare your head and heart.

In such a noisy marketplace, it's more important than ever to simplify your marketing effort. This is because you can't do it all and you can't be everything to everyone. The tried and true best practices of marketing will always help you to stand out and build trust with your customers and community.

Along these lines, it's been heavy on my mind to help founders "simply to amplify." It's been so fun working with different entrepreneurs in my Marketing Strategy School Bootcamp and hearing their biggest struggles and roadblocks when it comes to marketing. I thought it might be fun to go through the 7 things I recommend all startup founders stop doing in 2023.

7 Things to QUIT doing for Marketing in 2023

  1. Doing marketing without a Strategy or Plan
  2. Not measuring your data
  3. Being scared to put yourself out there for being judged or pitching to investors you can't control how others see you-- if you're ugly, dumb, or bad idea. Get it done and focus on your dream
  4. Doing everything yourself. Trying to be the expert at all the things
  5. Putting yourself in a situation that really drains you. If you are trying to build a personal brand only do the things that are life-giving. You can blog or podcast doesn't make you feel stressed out.
  6. Not being consistent
  7. Not building an emails list
