This past week, on more than one occasion, I found myself in conversation with founders who were on the brink of utter defeat. They were discouraged, exhausted, and full of frustration-- asking themselves how they can go on building their companies when there is just so much doubt and uncertainty.
The advice I offered was less an opinion and more of an unsexy truth...
Building a company is hard.
Entrepreneurship is a scary journey and most people don't make it through. That is just how it is.
But in that there is a choice:
You can quit-- and the world will keep turning.
Or, you can decide to keep going. One foot in front of the other with no guarantee of anything other than the knowledge that you went for it... 100%.
I'm sharing this because I want to normalize the fact that fear is absolutely part of the journey. To anyone pursuing something of value, you know there will be moments of questioning and extremely challenging times. It is sort of what you sign up for.
So dust yourself off and just keep at it.
